It was a crisp, golden morning in Williamstown when The Heyday Musician’s Collective gathered for their latest promotional photoshoot—a perfect setting that blended coastal charm with a touch of vintage character, much like the band itself.
With the historic waterfront, weathered bluestone laneways, and sweeping views of the Melbourne skyline as their backdrop, the band came together not just to pose, but to capture the spirit and energy of what they bring to every performance. The goal wasn’t just to take a few nice photos—it was to show the soul of the band: fun, nostalgic, and full of life.
There was laughter from the get-go—someone forgot a guitar, coffee runs became a group effort. But amidst the playful chaos, something special unfolded. The camaraderie, the ease between bandmates, the shared musical history—they all came through in every shot.
Photographer Lisa – Studio Drew guided the band through different locations around Williamstown, including the pier, the old train station, and a brick alleyway that looked like it belonged on a classic album cover. Each spot offered a different vibe—some polished, some raw—but all perfectly suited to the collective’s identity.
The members looked every bit the part of a band that’s here to celebrate the best of the ‘60s through to the ‘90s, while bringing a fresh energy to the present. Whether it was candid shots between takes or posed group photos with instruments in hand, every image captured the authentic vibe of the group—passionate musicians who just really love what they do.
The photoshoot wasn’t just about building the band’s image—it was about connection. Just like their performances, it was about showing that music is timeless, and the people who play it? They’re in it for the joy, the memories, and the magic of sharing it with others.
